French Creek Arts Collective
Cussewago Square
Connecting artists and art enthusiasts in Western Crawford County.
The French Creek Arts Collective represents an innovative cooperative model designed to provide accessibility and shared resources for the local creative community. Occupying approximately 4,000 square feet within Cussewago Square, the collective features a professional gallery for exhibitions, shared studio spaces for artists across multiple concentrations, and a retail shop for locally produced art.
The FCAC offers tiered membership benefits, providing creators with access to high-end studio equipment and communal materials without the burden of individual overhead costs. Key programs include “Open Studio” sessions, monthly “Poetic Evenings,” and youth-oriented workshops in partnership with the Meadville Council on the Arts.
The Building
Constructed in 1895, this building originally functioned as the Barrel Storage House of the Meadville Distillery Complex. In later years it was repurposed as a cidery. The structure has been reconstructed and now houses arts programming as part of the cultural redevelopment of the site.
